today is just one of those slow days.... so I decide to blog.  i'm trying to catch up on work, but it's just so difficult to concentrate.  May, June, July is what I have to catch up.  this company keeps changing.  this is when I wish that I were just a staff getting review notes.  just tell me what i did wrong, and i'll fix it and move on.  then i have to remember how thankful I am to have the amount of control that i do.  flexible schedule.  great ownership of my work.  great bosses.  great environment.  can't win them all, but i know i'm close. 

what do you do when you can't concentrate on work? 

when i can't concentrate i notice that i do so many random things.
-clean (i never clean, except when i am trying to procrastinate)
-blast the ipod, shuffling through
-online shopping
-check my bank account
-read blogs
-check facebook like 20 million times
-check my bank account
-clean out a few e-mails out work
-minesweeper
-twitter
-write random e-mails/posts to people who i haven't talked to in awhile

besides all this, there's always a big personal project that i must research/get obsessed with.  it used to be wedding stuff, but i'm soooo over that.  so now it's back to car researching.  yes, i've been researching and changing my mind all year, but the time is finally coming!  must switch cars by end of 2009.  after that, what's going to be my next obsession?  i wish it were being clean or being in shape.  that's my dream.  but it's a dream that i have already given up on.  maybe the next obsession is finding an apartment.  hmmm...might be too early, but we'll see.

it seems like many people are wondering the same thing.  where has this time gone?  It's the end of September, I have a few more days to finish up the work.  the lots and lots of work.  learning way more than i figured i could ever learn.

i went to the doctor today, and guess what?  i don't eat well.  too many carbs.  *SHOCKING*  so what did i eat today? filet o fish and about 10 pieces of candy.  so i start my diet tonight, i think.  less carbs, more fiber.  lovely.

please be sunny in seattle/vancouver.  please please please.

dear seattle,

for once, you are sunny and hot.  it is beautiful, but why am i in a windowless office with server sounds?  your people are a tiny bit strange and they wear birkenstocks, but all very nice.  i hope to see more this trip, except i'm so tired from watching the olympics all night.  and i'm super excited to see vancouver.  just gotta get through the work.  hopefully, i'll have pics and more to tell on monday.

oh, how i dislike you now.  the smell of you is now stuck in my brain.  the alcohol mixed in with the smoke.  yuck.  what trashy people your city holds.  bleached hair, boobs hanging out, way too short skirts.  i didn't lose money to you this time, but i barely played.  instead i forced myself to a couple clubs that you had.  how do people like dancing in no space, touching everyone around, and holding up all the drunk people?  your show with the thunder down under was quite interesting.  actually, i spent the whole time laughing.  what terrible dancers!  the one thing i do enjoy in your city is the food.  bouchon by thomas keller was excellent.  food, service, dessert, dessert, dessert, excellent!  i hope to not visit you for a long long while.

oh, how i miss you dearly.  sitting on the beach and reading.  relaxing and not thinking about the piles of work i have to do.  we'll meet again soon, but not soon enough.
